One good way to discover the city is through references in books. The evocative atmosphere of the Old Town has captivated many authors. Famous names like Umberto Eco, who has his character Baudolino travel with šSolomon of Gironaš, or Noah Gordon, who explains in the introduction to The Last Jew how the Call of Girona took him back to the historical period of the expulsion of the Jews.
