Religion

Catalonia is a secular country, in which the majority practice Roman Catholicism.

Language

Catalonia has two official languages, Catalan and Spanish. Most of the native population usually speak in Catalan, although the whole population understand and express themselves perfectly in Spanish.
In the tourist sector, the vast majority of firms offer their services in different languages, mainly in English and French.

6th December: Constitution Day
25th December: Christmas Day
26th December: Boxing Day

In addition, in Girona the following two days are also public holidays: 25th July (Sant Jaume), and 29th October (Sant Narcís, the patron saint of the city).
