Experience history in a different way this summer

The City History Museum proposes diverse activities to experience Girona's history this summer

A programme of dramatized tours, guided tours, routes around the city and a temporary exhibition will reveal a different way at looking at the history of Girona.
The Spanish Civil War and its effects play a leading role in the programme, which includes visits to the inside of the Jardí d'Infància air-raid shelter, the guided tour -Bombs over Girona-, which is the novelty of this season, and the route of -Passive Defence in Girona during the Spanish Civil War-, which takes in the network of shelters, barricades and trenches that have been preserved throughout the city's subsoil. To top off these activities, which mainly pivot around the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), the programme includes the dramatised tour of -Girona at War-, focused on the post-war period. Together with these activities, the museum offers the summer season's temporary exhibition called -Cityscapes of Girona. The Artistic Gaze-, presenting an anthology of pictures of the city that highlight the documentary value of landscape art for the recovery of the historic memory.
