Technology enables us to follow the seven-month siege of 1809
Extract from an article on Jordi Pericot, who works in collaboration with this Museum, published in Diari de Girona on 10 December 2009.
Jordi Pericot is a draughtsman, a keen lover of Girona history and the driving force behind a project to recover part of the history of our city. He is proud to disseminate a publication which he was able to compile after carrying out research in the Municipal Archives and in Girona Episcopal See; he is also pleased to have brought before the public eye the so-called Peninsular War, one of his own particular interests, by means of facsimile reproductions of the Diario de Gerona of the period. These documents allow us to understand how people in Girona lived through the seven-month siege of two hundred years ago.
Pericot also created the orthophotomap with the city bastions, and designed the free Lion cut-out given to all those who visited Girona and France. Times of War and Peace, 1659-1939 while the exhibition was open to the public in the City History Museum.
