An influx of visitors to the Museum during May
During the exhibition Girona, flower time, the Museum welcomed 96,513 visitors an increase of 6.84% on the previous edition of this show.
Girona City History Museum held its spring open days from 9 to 17 May, coinciding with the 54th edition of Girona, flower time. The 96,513 people who visited the museum over this period were granted free entry to the permanent collection rooms, the temporary exhibition Girona and France. Times of War and Peace, 1659-1939 and the various floral installations that were on display in the building. Visitors could also access spaces that are only opened occasionally such as the coal cellar and the cistern.
Furthermore, as part of the Museum Night celebrations on 16 May and International Museum Day on 17 May, various activities were organised which 416 visitors, who had booked in advance, were able to enjoy. These activities included a guided visit around the exhibition commemorating the bicentenary of the Peninsular War, given by the curator Genís Barnosell, a cultural treasure hunt passing through Girona's main cultural installations and a walking tour from the ¿Walk through History'itineraries "Route along the passive defence. The city's refuges" led by Xavier Carreras.
