The mysterious voice of the old building
We propose you on Tuesdays of August(22h) know the past of the big house that it has been witness of the historical, social and urban transformation of the city, with Debòlit theatre.
The History Museum of Girona is in one of the public buildings most unique and interesting of the Força Vella. During the XIII-XIV centuries, when the Jewish community hosts in the citywhich opened to the in that period it was the main street of the Jewish quarter. The building was the headquarters of the Cartellà family for 200 years. Later, in 1733, the heirs Cartellà sold the manor to the Capuchin monks, which him made the convent of Sant Antoni.
The building remains in very good order the spaces of the old convent that offer a tone of surprise and mystery. At the end of the XIX century the building became the High school Education, in operation since the 60s of XX century. Since 1981 receive the History Museum of Girona and the Girona Municipal Archive.
