The City History Museum received approximately 100,000 visitors over the nine days of “Girona Flower Time”
The 52nd “Girona Flower Time” exhibition of flowers, monuments, patios and gardens took place this year from 12th-20th May. Flowers were again the main attraction in the museum for the duration of the annual springtime exhibition.
with a projection designed by Laia Garroset and Foix Cervera, and flower installations in the Cellar by Dani Güell, Xavier Bustos and Natali Segura. In the Courtyard visitors could admire a superb collection of bonsais from the Girona Bonsai Society, Tarragona Bonsai Society, Montsià Bonsai Society, Reus Bonsai Club and Empordà County Bonsai Museum.
A montage by Apevec Grup de Paisatge graced the Cloister; in the Coal Cellar room, we were transported to Ulysses’ journey to Ithaca by Jordi Linares, Daniel Xifra and Xavier Montal; Víctor Almazán, Imma Alonso and Roser Guasch created a misty atmosphere down in the Cistern room; and finally, Carme Bosch’s excellent montage in the main exhibition room introduced us to the world of floral and herbal essences.
The City History Museum received approximately 100,000 visitors over the nine days of “Girona Flower Time”, an increase of almost 23,000 over last year’s exhibition. Furthermore, a total of 7,056 people took time to look at the permanent collection of the museum and 200 persons enjoyed a nocturnal guided visit of Carme Bosch’s montage and her cathartic city purification ritual, enlivened by a hot rum cremat punch and cakes flavoured with aromatic plants courtesy of Pep Salsetes.
