Recent bequests to the City History Museum permanent collection
Girona City History Museum permanent collection has received a bequest from Concepció Costa Torró consisting of a publicity element and an ink drawing, both by Carles Vivó. Montserrat Pararols Sidera has also bequeathed a set of documents on the sardana dance.
At meetings in March and April of this year, the Local Government Council accepted bequests to Girona City from Concepció Costa Torró and Montserrat Pararols Sidera. The former bequeathed two works by Carles Vivó Siqués: a publicity element entitled “The tamer”, registered in the inventory as MHCG09724, and an ink drawing on paper, entitled “Saint Narcissus”, registered as MHCG09725. The latter bequeathed the following works to the City History Museum permanent collection: “Homage to sardanista Felipe Cutiller” programme (1947); “Set of 2000 sardana dances in verse or a string of sardana dances” by Felip Cutiller (1948); “Guide for sardana dancers. Saint Narcissus festival in Girona” programme (1945); and “Mariagna” sardana music for piano composed by Josep Maria Boix and published in Girona (1943). The documents bear inventory registration numbers MHCG09726, MHCG09727, MHCG09728 and MHCG09729, respectively.
