Masó: Interiors

A journey through the interior of nine dwellings designed by the architect Rafael Masó throughout his professional career, from 1907 to 1932.

The overall view shows that one of the most innovative aspects of Masó’s work was his concept of home design and decoration.

The exhibition also enables us to see the territorial scope of Masó’s works, as the houses in question are located in Girona, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Olot, Torroella de Montgrí and L’Estartit. It shows who Masó’s clients were and why they were willing to accept his modern proposals.

Masó saw the transformation of domestic interiors as another aspect of Catalan national identity, of the modernization and Europeanization of Catalonia as advocated by Noucentisme.
