Xavier Montsalvatge. Composer, 1912-2012 centennial

This temporary exhibition is featuring two musical concerts link with Girona as are sardanas and habaneras.

The exhibition focuses on three key elements in order to provide a rounded view of his life and work. In the course of the the exhibition, Montsalvatge shares his views on music both as a spectator and composer in his own words and works.
It goes beyond the biographical and shows the composer's artistic and visual world, offering a vision of his imagery that turns into a review of art and in our country during the second half of the 20th century.
La Cobla la Principal de la Bisbal, directed by Francesc Cassú to interpret the work of Xavier Montsalvatge cobla on Thursday, July 12, at 7 pm in the Auditorium of la Mercè. Port Bo Group sing on Thursday 26 July at half past eight o'clock, in the courtyard of the Museum of the
City, these Habaneras that him collected.
