The excavations of the urban surroundings of the former Santa Caterina's Hospital afford an extraordinary opportunity to trace the urban evolution and the daily life of the city, from the medieval period down to the present day. The results of the latest archaeological digs will help to place the planning evolution of the sector and its role over the course of history within context.
