Girona's women artist relationship with art.

Few names have come down to us of women from or associated with our city who were also involved in art over the course of our history, but this does not mean that women artists never worked in Girona, or that our lady ancestors took no interest in art. We can reconstruct a genealogy going back from our own time to ancient times. Those women have been disregarded by history ¿by the people who write histories¿ and often by their own contemporaries as well.
This work seeks to show, and to draw attention to, what has been overlooked or ignored for centuries: the presence of women in art. Those women should be traced and granted the role previously denied to them; only then can we discern whether their historical context, their life parameters, led them to a special relationship with art.
