Pharmacies | Pharmacies are identifiable by an illuminated red or green cross. Normal opening times are from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 4.30 to 8.00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and from 9.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on Saturdays. If you need to find a pharmacy outside these times, you can check 24 hours a day the list of pharmacies with emergency opening times which is posted on the outside doors of all pharmacies when closed, and in the local newspapers. Most medicines are sold on prescription.

Medical Services | The main tourist establishments offer medical services. Some countries have agreements with the Spanish Social Security system which enable the tourist to receive free assistance in all medical establishments, whether they be health centres (CAPs) or hospitals of the Catalan Health Institute. In these cases you will need a European Health Insurance card issued by the Social Security system of the traveller's country of origin (E-111).

Non-smoking areas | On the 2nd January the new regulations have come into force about the tobacco. He forbids to smoke in all the closed public spaces.
