The languages of Judaism
New lecture series at the Nahmanides Institute for Jewish Studies
We are pleased to announce the schedule of the series of lectures for 2013, organized jointly by the Board Patronat Call de Girona and the Chair Ferrater Mora of Contemporary Thought of the University of Girona. Through five sessions, led by renowned speakers, The languages of Judaism will generically approximate us to the diversity of languages that have been characteristic of the Jewish people throughout history.
January 31st: L'hebreu: de llengua santa a llengua oficial, Manuel Forcano.
February 28th: El ídish, lengua europea. Desde su origen al premio Nobel, Rhoda Abecasis.
March 21st: La mujer sefardí tradicional en la prosa rabínica judeoespañola, Katja Smid.
April 25th: De la casa para afuera: la transmisión de la haketía, lengua judeoespañola de Marruecos, Line Anselem.
May 30th: La parla quotidiana de les comunitats jueves de la Catalunya medieval, Joan Ferrer.
