The work of R.K. Yafa -pseudonym of Raquel Jiménez Martín- offers a reinterpretation of key episodes in medieval Castilian history based on research that combines sources, clues, and documentary gaps. Starting from the courtly context of Alfonso VIII of Castile and the traditions linking him to a woman of Jewish origin, the famous Jewess of Toledo, the work broadens its interpretative scope to other key episodes of chivalric culture, such as the Paso Honroso of Suero de Quiñones (1434), proposing a new reading that incorporates symbolic dimensions associated with Jewish thought, Kabbalah, and certain cultural currents present in the Late Middle Ages.
Participants: R.K. Yafa (author), Joan Torres (Telecommunications Engineer, Polytechnic University of Catalonia), and Jorge García López (Professor of Spanish and Latin American Literature, University of Girona).
