Opening of the temporary exhibition by the Mayor of Girona and President of the Patronat Call de Girona, Lluc Salellas, the curator of the exhibition, Jordi Dorca, and the director of the Museum of Jewish History, Silvia Planas.

The exhibition deals with the beginnings of Hollywood. The pioneers of the world's largest entertainment industry were Ashkenazi Jews who landed in New York and struggled to make a living. Their rise is a very striking example of the American dream and a fact that enhances the mythology of this dream that they themselves helped to universalize with their films.

Jordi Dorca's conference Jewishwood: the Jewish contribution to the birth and rise of Hollywood will then take place, at the Nahmanides Studies Institute.
