International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2024

Every year around 27 January, UNESCO pays tribute to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and reaffirms its unwavering commitment to counter antisemitism, racism, and other forms of intolerance that may lead to group-targeted violence. The date marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau by Soviet troops on 27 January 1945.

They will take part:
- Ms. Marta Marín-Dòmine, writer expert in memory studies
- Mr. Víctor Sorenssen, director of the AEPJ and founding member of the Mozaika platform

Closing, by His Excellency. Mr. Lluc Salellas Vilar, mayor of Girona and president of the Patronat Call de Girona

Place: Plenary Hall of Girona City Council
Event open to all audiences

As part of this commemoration, on Wednesday January 31st the 1st year students of the INS Sarrià de Ter will attend the talk "The Fascism that is not going away", by Lluc Salellas Vilar, mayor from Girona and author of the book El franquisme que no marxa (Edicions Saldonar, 2015) in the Rosa M. Labayen room of the Nahmanides Institute of Studies. Afterwards, he will go to the Museum of History of Girona to complete the guided itinerary "Bombs on Girona".
