Call de Girona

The band Aljama was born in Girona in 1999 to popularize the musical legacy left by the Sephardic people before it was expelled from the Iberian Peninsula in 1492.

Purposely avoiding a museum-like approach, Aljama's repertoire features modern arrangements built on top of Sephardic traditional music in order to present a new, appealing, contemporary view on such a familiar culture.
