Parallel Traces: A new lens on Jewish Heritage
Patronat Call de Girona participates in this project of the European Commission's Creative Europe 2018-2020 program, which supports the European audiovisual, cultural and creative sector
Parallel Traces is a transversal and collaborative European project that aims to provide a renewed and alternative look at the Jewish heritage and promote its understanding. The aim is to open a new window on the interpretation of heritage through the audiovisual arts.
Its implementation will be developed through actions that will be carried out jointly by the partners. These actions are:
• Organization of a European competition for young artists to create a digital and audiovisual fund on Jewish heritage in these cities
• Realization of temporary travelling exhibition in all cities
• Creation of a mobile application with augmented reality technology
The project is coordinated by a consortium formed by AEPJ (European Association for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage) and Cumediae SBL (Brussels). She has a technology partner (Imascono) and five local partners: Patronat Call Girona, Tacka Komunikacije from Belgrade (Serbia), Israeli House of Tblisi (Georgia), Bente Kahan Foundation in Wroclaw (Poland) and the Tarbut Foundation from Sighet (Romania).
The composition of the competition Jury has recently been presented. It consists of twelve artists and professionals. Five of them will also take have a role as guest artists, with a mission to produce a work inspired by the Jewish heritage of each of the associated cities (Girona, Belgrade, Wrocław, Sighet and Tblisi), emphasizing the material and endangered heritage, but also the recovery of the memory by means of artistic creation.
