Music night in the Jewish quarter

Two performances in a single concert by Tati Cervià and Elena Martinell (in streaming)

Thursday, August 13,
Museu d'Història dels Jueus

Elena Martinell (voice), Efrén López (strings and percussion) and Manolo López (double bass and percussion)
The expulsion of the Jews, decreed in 1492, represented the appearance of another diaspora movement in the cyclical and tragic migratory life of the Jewish people.
The program of this concert consists exclusively of traditional Sephardic songs. Small pieces that are the result of oral transmission, and which are scattered throughout the different Mediterranean colonies, are enriched by the various modal ranges of each region where they are played.

Tati Cervià (voice), Jaume Fulcarà (guitar), Toni Pujol (double bass) and César Martínez (drums) ) are the components of Sepharazz Mishpaha, a group that will offer a concert inspired by the extraordinary legacy of Sephardic culture and traditional music in our country, in the key of jazz.
The group has released two CDs: "Kantikas de la kukuvaya" (2012) and "Solombra" (2014), where they collect romances, love and celebration songs that they have performed in different emblematic settings in the Jewish world.
