Housed in an old Capuchin monastery (18th century), of which the desiccator, cloister and cistern still remain, this museum tells the story of Girona, from its foundation by the Romans (1st century BC) to the return of democracy from 1975 onwards. It is completed with several themed rooms, such as the Sardana Room.
May to September: Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30 to 18.30; Sundays and bank holidays from 10.30 to 13.30.
October to April: Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30 to 17.30; Sundays and bank holidays from 10.30 to 13.30.
Closed on Mondays (except bank holidays) and 1 and 6 January and 25 and 26 December.
Normal entrance: 4,20 €
Reduced entrance: 2,10 €
Free entrance: children under 16, pensioners, members of ICOM, students at the Official School of Languages in Girona, members of GEiEG, teachers, people accompanying groups and press (with accreditation).
Free entrance on the first Sunday of every month.
