The agreement for the digitisation, storage and access to the sound and audiovisual collection of the Marshall Islands Nuclear Claims Tribunal was signed in October 2012 between the aforementioned tribunal and Girona City Council. The agreement established, in general, that the sound and audiovisual documents of the Tribunal should be transferred to Girona for digitisation and digital storage, and then returned to their place of origin. The agreement was signed by Filimon Manoni, Attorney General of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, on behalf of the Nuclear Claims Tribunal; Bill Graham, Document Preservation Coordinator, representing the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Carles Puigdemont i Casamajó, Mayor of Girona, representing Girona City Council. Today, we can say that all the resolutions of the agreement have been satisfactorily fulfilled. The original documents have been returned to their place of origin and the Municipal Archive of Girona safely preserves the digital copies, in such a way that they are accessible to the Tribunal. |
