On this route you'll encounter a little-known Girona, close to the historic city centre, and discover a good sample of the natural, cultural and ethnographical heritage of the Gavarres.
Crossing the lovely Sant Daniel Valley, following the course of the Galligants River and its tributaries, passing through a landscape dotted with woods and small farms, you'll enter the protected natural area of the Gavarres to climb the Sant Miquel mount, from where you'll enjoy magnificent panoramic views of much of the Girona region, from the Empordā to the Pyrenees. At the high part of the trail, you can choose between the two alternatives we offer: the Cal Micalķ alternative enables you examine many remains of constructions built using the traditional dry stone technique, while the Collet d'en Figueres option offers an alternative to the main route, passing by the remains of the old, recently-restored Cal Mistaire spring, among other sites.
